Design for Social Innovation Symposium

15th & 16th July, 2015

AUT University and Auckland Council are hosting NZ's first Design for Social Innovation Symposium. This interactive and practitioner focused event will recognise the important ways that design is being applied to social contexts and challenges in Aotearoa New Zealand, and help set the direction for the continued development of social and co-design capability in this country.

An audience with US tech entrepreneur Craig Elliott, CEO of Pertino Inc.

Craig Elliott is CEO of cloud networking company Pertino Networks, sits on the Xero board of directors and advises organizations like New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. Based in Los Gatos, Craig brings over 25 years experience in the Silicon Valley technology sector. 

Featured in the NZ Herald, Craig talks about his journey from an Iowa based Apple salesman to leading Packeteer from a three person company to a 200 person company that went public in 1999 with a $2 billion valuation. He spends time in Wanaka with family and through this connection with New Zealand, he has established a new internship program for New Zealand graduates.

Craig helped found the Kiwi Landing Pad, and now joins New Zealand entrepreneurs John Holt and Sam Morgan, Datacom deputy chair Simon Holdsworth and Phil McCaw from venture capital firm MOVAC as a company director of KLP. Established in July 2011, KLP is a not-for-profit based in San Francisco that helps New Zealand technology companies successfully enter the US market

Craig has a passion for building stuff: electronics, blacksmithing, woodworking, race cars, log cabins, and great companies that do great things!

An audience with Daniel Radcliffe, EY entrepreneur Of The Year 2014

On July 23 AmCham is hosting a function with Daniel Radcliffe, who will have just returned from representing New Zealand at the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ awards in Monte Carlo.

Dan founded IVHQ in 2007 after volunteering abroad and identifying a need to provide affordable, safe and responsible volunteer programs for international volunteers. Dan oversees the operations of IVHQ, managing all aspects of the company and traveling regularly to visit programs and local teams. Dan also loves getting outdoors and into SCUBA diving, paddle boarding, fishing and any other sports he can try his hand at. Not surprisingly, he is also an avid traveler with his favorite countries being Kenya, Mexico and Sri Lanka. In 2014,

Dan was named EY New Zealand Entrepreneur of the Year, recognising the impact International Volunteer HQ has made globally.
